Outside Perth and the Peel, finding a counsellor can mean a waitlist, a long drive, or both — and in a good many towns it means whoever is available rather than whoever is right. Some women drive or fly hours for an appointment. Many more simply do not go.
This is the clearest reason for Grounded Counselling Co. to work the way it does. Sessions are online, by secure video, which means a woman in Albany, Geraldton, Karratha or Kalgoorlie-Boulder draws on the same appointment book as someone in the metro area, at the same fee, and without leaving town.
It also answers something a small town makes genuinely difficult. If the local counsellor is someone you see at the shops, or your sister-in-law works on reception, privacy is not really on offer. An hour with someone who lives nowhere near you is a different proposition.
I work with women 18 and over, individually and as couples, through anxiety and stress, motherhood, grief, relationships, separation and major change. Sixty minutes, Perth time, no referral needed. All it takes is somewhere private and a connection good enough to hold a video call.

Hi, I'm Tilly.
For fifteen years I worked as a barista, making coffees and watching people come together over them — to talk, to laugh, to cry, and sometimes just to sit with someone who made the day feel lighter. Grounded Counselling Co. came out of that, and out of my own experience of needing someone to talk to.
I work with women 18 and over, online, through the things that are hard to say out loud the first time. You do not need to arrive with it all worked out.

Questions about counselling in regional WA
Do you work with women outside Perth and Mandurah?
Yes — anywhere in Western Australia. Sessions are online, so the South West, Great Southern, Wheatbelt, Mid West, Goldfields, Pilbara and Kimberley are all the same distance from an appointment.
Do you travel to regional towns for in-person sessions?
No. Grounded Counselling Co. is online only and does not hold in-person sessions anywhere — not on visits either.
My internet is slow or drops out. Is that a problem?
Often not — a video call needs much less bandwidth than streaming. If the picture struggles we can turn the video off and keep going by voice, which works perfectly well.
My partner is away on a swing. Can we still do couples counselling?
Yes. Because it is online, the two of you can join from different places, which makes couples sessions possible even when one of you is on site.
Is this suitable if I am the only one for miles who feels like this?
Feeling like the only one is a very common experience and a perfectly reasonable thing to bring to a first session. If something needs more than counselling, I will say so and help you work out where to go next.
How much does a session cost?
Individual sessions are $120 and couples sessions $140, each 60 minutes. Regional clients pay exactly the same as metropolitan ones.
