Grounded Counselling Co. is based in Halls Head and works entirely online. Those two things together are worth explaining, because they are rather the point.
That means when you mention the estuary, the run along Old Coast Road at school pickup, or what this place turns into over summer, none of it needs explaining to me first. But the sessions themselves are held by secure video rather than in a room, so there is nothing to drive to, no appointment across the water in Mandurah at five o'clock, and no waiting room. Local understanding, without the local appointment.
For a great many people, that is easier than a consulting room would be. An appointment you can keep from your own lounge room, without arranging who collects the children, is a far smaller thing to say yes to than one that costs you an afternoon — and saying yes at all is usually the hardest part.
I work with women 18 and over, individually and as couples. Anxiety and stress, the enormous adjustment of becoming a mother, grief, difficulty in a relationship, separation, and change you did not choose. Sessions run for 60 minutes, no referral is required, and you book the time yourself.

Hi, I'm Tilly.
For fifteen years I worked as a barista, making coffees and watching people come together over them — to talk, to laugh, to cry, and sometimes just to sit with someone who made the day feel lighter. Grounded Counselling Co. came out of that, and out of my own experience of needing someone to talk to.
I work with women 18 and over, online, through the things that are hard to say out loud the first time. You do not need to arrive with it all worked out.

Questions about counselling in Halls Head
You are in Halls Head — can I see you in person?
No. Grounded Counselling Co. is based in Halls Head but works remotely only. There is no consulting room to come to, no rooms hired elsewhere and no home visits: every session is held by secure video. It is the first thing worth saying, because being local and being online are two different things.
If you are local, why work online at all?
Because it removes the things that most often stop people going at all: the travel, the narrow choice of appointment times, and being seen walking in somewhere in your own suburb. If sitting in a room together is what matters most to you, a face-to-face counsellor is a reasonable thing to look for instead.
Do I need to go into Mandurah for anything?
No. Everything happens online — booking, payment and the session itself. You will get a confirmation email with a video link.
What do I actually need to join a session?
Somewhere private to sit for an hour, a phone, tablet or computer with a camera, and an internet connection good enough for a video call. Headphones help if the house is busy.
Do I need a referral from my GP?
No. You can book directly, and you do not need a diagnosis or a mental health care plan to see a counsellor.
How much does a session cost?
Individual sessions are $120 and couples sessions $140, each 60 minutes, with a founding client rate of $100 for the first ten clients.
